Kawasaki GPB-15X Gas Turbine Generator Set
The GPB-15X package is electrically ISO rated at 1450 KW, 0.8 pf, and 1812.5 KVA. MTSI's scope of effort included complete package layout, all fluid systems design, controls design, design of bedplate and acoustic enclosure, and manufacture and test of three units. The GPB15X module is pictured in its test set up at MTSI. Testing included emissions testing over the full load range that demonstrated remarkably low NOx production of less than 3 ppmvd (15% OČ) over a broad power range.
The package design includes intake air silencing, enclosure cooling air ventilation system, vertical exhaust outlet & insulation system, electro-hydraulic starting system, air/oil cooling system, and Woodward Atlas based fuel metering system for the Xonon combustion system.
