LHD8 Hydraulic Starting Module
The Hydraulic Starting Module (HSU) indicated in photos is designed to provide cranking power for water wash motoring and starting a LM2500/(+) gas turbine ships propulsion system. The HSU is designed for marine indoor installation and is housed within the engine room compartment. The Hydraulic Starting Module is a prepackaged and factory tested system, piped, wired and ready for installation. The Hydraulic Starting Module skid contains two hydraulic systems; the hydraulic starting system and the clutch coolant system. Both systems are designed to provide 100% redundancy. HSU has been shocked tested to MIL-S-901D, vibe tested to MIL-STD-167-1 and EMI tested to MIL-STD-461C, Part 5.
