MTSI has designed and produced many dependable hydraulic start units for various applications. Our typical HSU designs provide cranking power for water wash motoring and starting power for gas turbine engines for marine propulsion systems and can provide 100% redundancy with two hydraulic systems, a hydraulic starting system and a clutch cooling system. MTSI has also developed a Navy qualified hydraulic starting unit which has 100% redundancy and has been shock tested to MIL-S-901D, vibe tested to MIL-STD-167-1 and EMI tested to MIL-STD-461C, Part 5. Our HSU units have been used to start GE LM500 and GE LM2500+ gas turbine engines but could also be designed to operate with other families of engines. Some customers we have provide hydraulic starting units to include the U.S. Navy and Austal.
